Oceans of Mercy Rocks!!!

Oceans of Mercy rocks & has a new website! Check it out because it is what we have been doing for the last two years.

Also, one of the things that drew us to Oceans of Mercy is that 100% of donations go to helping the kids. So we have to do other fundraisers during the year to help us run the organization. So if your the athletic type (like Dan who has muscles as big as his head...um yeh) or if you just want to help us help kids come check out the Run for Mercy on April 18th. As an added bonus you will get to meet Bono, or maybe just us. We will be there for this years run and look forward to meeting a lot of you.

We saw this idea at a craft fair. Get it, "fair"...anyways, so they were selling these for like $15 a letter and then you had to buy the frame. I thought since I am pretty good at taking pictures, and since our last name only has 4 letters; how hard could it be? I then bought my own frame and voila! You can do it too. It works for first names, last names, fun words like "joy", "laughter", "poptarts"...whatever. Its fun to find letters in the everyday. Make it a family game. That's what we did. The kids were way better at finding letters then we were.

Goodies from our other home

Along with the team came suitcases of goodies. My mom sent "Thanksgiving" and my friend Lisa sent a whole box of fun stuff from our small group and from her class who has adopted us as their "class missionaries" for the year. Yay for cranberries, and stuffing, napkins, and tablecloths. Yay for smell good stuff from bath & body, journals, pens

and markers, notes from the kids....all kinds of great stuff. I love love love stuff. Even more, I love stuff from people I love. Thank you.

You know you are are missionary when:

1. You can't answer the question, "Where are you from?"
2. You read National Geographic and recognize someone.
3. You have a time zone map next to your telephone.
4. You consider a city 500 km away to be "very close".
5. You watch nature documentaries, and think about how good that animal would taste if it were fried.
6. You can cut grass with a machete, but can't start a lawnmower.
7. You speak with authority on the subject of airline travel.
8. You read the international section before the comics.
9. You have friends from or in 29 different countries.
10. You sort your friends by continent.
11. Fitting 15 or more people into a car seems normal to you.
12. You refer to gravel roads as highways.
13. You haggle with the checkout clerk for a lower price.
14. You don't think that two hours is a long sermon.
15. You marvel at the cleanliness of gas station bathrooms in the US.
16. You think you've died and gone to heaven when you go into a foreign grocery store.
17. You think a "foreign school" conducts classes in English.
18. You attend a church with a roof on it and feel like you are cut off from Heaven.
19. You think something is missing if you have a meal without beans or rice.
20. You get a video tape sent to you from the States and are upset that they edited out the commercials.
