Tuesday Prayer

Please forgive me. I didn't mean to not post yesterday "Monday prayer" but Daniel and I are sick and we slept for most of the day so we weren't on the computer much. But Tuesdays are a great day to pray, right? Right. So if you wanna pray with some really cool people here in the community of believers, please feel free to drop your Praise, Thanksgiving, request or anything else here and we will stand with you in your pursuit of the Cross. All are welcome.

Tuesday Prayer

So you know...there I was, getting ready to start a new post this morning and just before I did that I checked my email and there were several emails...SEVERAL emails desiring prayer. Not just la la prayers (which are great too) but "Pour your heart out to God and lets get to the Cross together prayers because if I have to take one more step alone I am going to crumble under the weight of the burden"-prayers. My life is like that. I have realized that none of us can do this journey alone. I know it may seem like we can and we can certainly fake it for a while, but it is a lie to everyone to say we can. How ridiculous to say that my biggest prayer right now is for protection over my mind? Maybe it is our literal safety as we battle everyday here of the dangers of this African Nation, and the unknowns that come with it...but the other night when I slept here alone my imagination led me to believe that I was going to be slaughtered in the night. I slept with the lights on and sobbed for what seemed like hours. Out loud, screams even out to the LORD. But He met me there. He met me there. Daniel (my protector) is here now and we both slept through the night last night...but the fear isn't any less real. So please pray for us. I will not disclose the other emails that were scattered in my inbox this morning. But I am committing to prayer today (all week for those who left Monday prayer as well) and so we together can stand in the gap as God so intended. As always all are welcome and the Alter is ready.

Jules had requested prayer for her thyroid a couple of weeks ago and recently went to the doctor to make sure it wasn't cancerous. We are happy to announce that she is cancer free. Thanks for praying and note that I have now taken her (and several people actually) off of the side bar because those prayers were answered. If you have any Yay God moments, feel free to share.

*update- Brenda, (on the sidebar) was cleared - no cancer in her breast. Woo hoo, but is now going for other tests this week to make sure she is cancer free in the rest of her body. Thanks for praying.

Monday prayer (June 9, 2008)

A couple of updates...

Joy's husband came home safe and sound from Iraq...so she was pulled off the side bar. Yay! Gabe- the little two year old is still battling cancer and going through chemo. My Grandpa Vickers foot is fine, so he is "off the list too". Zoe is getting closer to her surgery, so please continue to lift her up, and Jules was diagnosed with nodules on her large thyroid...as always if you have any praise or needs, leave them here...I will be praying for you this week.

Let me get this straight

So I was just in the car, praying for my friend and I have this flip book thing like index cards with a ring and so anyways she at one time asked for her relationship with God to be stronger. So that is what I was praying...for her to grow stronger in her faith flip on to the next card, next person...and God was like "flip back"...the thought in my head was then that of it isn't "her" relationship with God. She doesn't own it. HE owns her. She belongs to HIM. She is HIS beloved. HE desires her. She is HIS everything. Not the other way around. So that is what I prayed for her. That HE would in fact be her everything. Absolutely her everything. Flip.

Monday prayer

I was hanging out on Shannon's blog and this is what she said:


"I think most of you know that Derek went through chemotherapy for Hodgkin's (Lymphoma) about 2 years ago. in case you didn't know that...he's been in remission since then and now they do an annual routine follow-up Pet scan for the first 5 years of remission (i think). anyways, he had his scan last Thursday and i just want to say that we got his results tonight and it's clean. thank you Jesus, again. now that he's officially been in remission for 2 years, the chances of the cancer coming back is like a 5% chance. we're so thankful."

We have been praying for Shannon and Derek for, since I don't remember how long...but God is so so so faithful to us! Please keep them in your prayers this week and praise God for this new news. As always if you have any praise or requests leave them here. Thanks!
